This fall, one of the city’s largest hotels, the San Francisco Marriott Marquis unveiled a brand, spanking new design. If you’re visiting the Bay area for the holidays, its worth checking into one of the property’s 1,500 guestrooms to take advantage of the prime location in downtown SF: located on Mission and 4th Streets. Here are 5 reasons to stay at this newly renovated, iconic hotel:
You can’t beat the Marriott Marquis’s location, being smack dab in the city’s SoMa district, which includes a plethora of tourist attractions, including destinations like the Yerba Buena Gardens, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Moscone Convention Center, and the Westfield San Francisco, which has over 170 stores on 9 floors. Depending on if you are driving or using public transit, the property is a short drive to Interstate 80 and on the same block as the Powell Street BART station.
Stay in Renovated Guest Rooms and Suites
The newly-renovated 1,500 guestrooms and suites have a clean and elegant design with accents like starburst chandeliers in the suites; touches of yellow side chairs; grey, black, and yellow rugs; and abstract paintings to compliment the furnishings.
One appealing aspect of the suites are the sweeping city views from the panoramic windows. For the techy traveler, the accommodations also have smart TVs that come with streaming services including Netflix, Hulu, and curated TED Talks.
There is no room service on property, but can get grab n go delivered to the room from the Mission Street Pantry, an urban marketplace offering Peet’s® Coffee, pastries, salads, soups, pizza, and flatbreads. For a more formal dining experience, on the 1st level in the lobby, B55 Craft House and Kitchen, serving craft beers, bourbons and wine by the glass. For lunch, choose specialties like Skuna Bay salmon; Impossible Burger; Roasted Mary’s Chicken; and the Fried Chicken Sandwich.
Check out the views at the View Lounge
The View Lounge was renovated, with white and gray finishes, so you can enjoy cocktails and light bites while taking in views of San Francisco from the 39th floor. Choose from menu options like head-on prawns; butternut squash mac; salmon poke; and hummus. Wash it all down with cocktail menu selects like margaritas, Manhattans; or the Skyline Punch.
